Which account do you find more believable? Why?
I find the New York Time's account to be more believable. From first glance, it is visible that the Journal uses flashy headlines in order to catch the attention of the public. With this said, it can only be assumed that the remainder of the article is not completely reliable. Upon further examination, the article displays a biased on the Journal's end. The title reads, "DESTRUCTION OF THE WAR SHIP MAINE WAS THE WORK OF AN ENEMY", which makes the Spanish appear to be against the US. The article that originated from the New York Times, titled "Divers to Find Whether the Force of the Explosion Was from the Exterior or Interior" displays a much less hostile view and also gives off a less biased view. Along with this, the article also features key sources who were apart of the incident. Overall, the New York Times presents information that appears to be far more reliable than the Journal, which is my main reason for finding it to be more believable.
